About Me!
Hi, I’m Mia Parks (Meyer), the heart behind Wag Tag.
I grew up in the Iowa Great Lakes Region and attended Okoboji Schools, where my love for animals first began. Pets were always a part of my life, and I often found myself caring for neighbors’ dogs when they were away. From a young age, I knew animals would always play a big role in my future—and owning a boarding facility quickly became a dream of mine.
That dream led me to Iowa State University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. While I explored different fields like Dairy Science and Animal Nutrition, my passion always circled back to dogs. I even had a pup of my own who was by my side through my college years (and still is).
After graduation, I tried out city life in Kansas City for a year, but I knew my heart belonged in the Iowa Great Lakes area. Returning home felt right, and with the support of my husband, Joe, I decided it was time to bring my lifelong dream to life—caring for dogs and family pets in a safe, loving environment.
Joe and I and our two dogs, Jes and Waylon, live out on the property where Wag Tag is operated. So we are always right there to care for our furry visitors. Joe acts as our jack of all trades man, whether it's building maintenance, or giving out extra attention, he's our guy!
At Wag Tag, our mission is simple: to provide the same love, attention, and care to your pets as we would our own. Whether it’s boarding, playtime, or just a little extra TLC, your pets are part of the
Wag Tag family.

FAQ
What do I need to bring for my dogs boarding stay?
Please bring their food (enough for their stay) and any medications. You are welcome to bring beds or any comfort items they love. Otherwise lofted Kuranda beds are supplied for every overnight guest.
Can I get updates and of my pets?
Of course! I will send pictures or videos of your pup throughout their stay with us.
It's my first time using drop ins, can you come meet my pets beforehand?
Absolutely, I recommend scheduling a meet and greet at your home, or wherever the drop in will occur. This way your pets will be a bit more familiar with me and I can see where their supplies are. This helps drop ins go as smooth as possible!
Where do I send my pets vet records?
Send them to mia@wagtagpetcare.com prior to arrival or bring a hard copy with you! Vaccinations are required by law, please make sure they are up to date before their stay!
How do I pay?
Cash, check, card and venmo are accepted. Payment must be made at or before pick up/final drop in.
